WMEboom were appointed as building services engineering design consultants for the fit out and reconfiguration of the lower ground floor of the Hub building at Roche’s Welwyn Garden City headquarters in 2014.
A long professional relationship between James Warne and the Estates Directorate and FM team at Roche formed back in 2003 when James led the environmental engineering design on Roche’s flagship new Headquarters Building.
This has continued through a number of building projects on their site and following the completion of an engineering feasibility design, WMEboom were appointed to collaborate with Alium Architects to deliver the fit out of the new Roche Conference Centre. The Centre is a state of the art facility for over 350 scientific researchers to gain and share knowledge.
The feasibility stage of the project involved the survey and analysis of existing infrastructure and shell and core building services plant and equipment to establish the possibility of increasing the cumulative maximum occupancy in the whole building without increasing the primary engineering plant capacity.
